We hear over and over, “I want to help in Darfur but I just don’t know what to do.” The Darfur Stoves Project is a very tangible way of making a difference in Darfur.
Your donation of just $20 can provide a Darfuri family with a stove that will reduce their exposure to gender-based violence, save them $730 worth of firewood, and reduce emissions of green house gases by 8 tons over a five year span.
Your donation of $200 can provide stoves and increased security to ten Darfuri families. Firewood savings = $7,300. Emissions reductions = 80 tons over five years.
The Darfur Stoves Project – under our parent organization, Technology Innovation for Sustainable Societies (TISS) – is in the the process of applying for nonprofit 501(c)(3) status. Until the process is complete, all donations to Darfur Stoves Project and TISS are managed by our fiscal sponsor, FJC – A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds.
