Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) is a U.S. Department of Energy national laboratory located in Berkeley, California. It conducts unclassified scientific research and is managed by the University of California. LBNL has nurtured the Darfur Stoves Project from its early beginnings, providing lab space and a steady stream of collaborating scientists.

Sustainable Products and Solutions Program was created to foster productive application of the University’s excellent learning, research, and technology development expertise. The vision of the Sustainable Products & Solutions Program is to create a multi-disciplinary learning and research environment where the foundations of sustainability – society, science, engineering, environment, and finance – are all considered simultaneously as new products and solutions are explored. Shri Hari Industries is an engineering parts manufacturer located in Mumbai, India. Shri Hari Industries fabricates the stove components by stamping the stove design into metal sheets, creating “flat-kits,” which are shipped to Sudan for assembly.
Sustainable Action Group (SAG) is a Sudanese charitable voluntary organization that aims to promote environmental conservation systems in Sudan in general and in conflict-affected areas in particular; increase coordination and cooperation between communities, NGOs and government departments to enhance forestry recovery; increase gender awareness within rural communities; and promote public health education. SAG manages the Darfur Stove assembly shop in El Fasher, Sudan, and coordinates stove distribution in IDP camps.
FJC, a foundation of philanthropic funds, is a public charity that provides total management of charitable giving. Over 1,000 FJC Donor Advised Funds have been established, and over $100,000,000 in grants have been made to charities in the United States and around the world. FJC’s mission is to increase and maximize the impact of charitable dollars, create innovative and customized philanthropic solutions and respond effectively to the needs and interests of donors, borrowers and other clients. FJC acts as Darfur Stoves Project’s fiscal sponsor, enabling us to receive tax-free, charitable donations.
GreaterGood.org is an independent charitable organization devoted to improving the health and well-being of people, animals, and the planet. GreaterGood.org distributes 100% of the funds generated through the GreaterGood Network family of websites, including GreaterGood.org, to the nonprofit partners responsible for implementing the programs described on these sites, as well as providing grants directly to worthwhile organizations dedicated to the welfare of the global community. GreaterGood’s The Hunger Site has been the primary channel for individual online donations to the Darfur Stoves Project to date.
Plan International is one of the oldest and largest children’s development organisations in the world. Plan works in 48 developing countries across Africa, Asia and the Americas to promote child rights and lift millions of children out of poverty. Working with Plan Sudan and Plan Canada, Berkeley-Darfur Stoves will reach even more women in North Darfur.
Impact Carbon generates carbon-emission reductions from household energy projects that improve living conditions in the less-developed communities we serve. Impact Carbon leverages the financial returns from these projects to benefit local partners and people. With the assistance of Impact Carbon, we aim to use carbon financing as a source of financial sustainability for our operations.
